Description
The Lace Holy Grail set pairs two HG1000 pickups (neck and middle) with one HG1500 (bridge) to recreate the vintage ’54 Strat voice—warm, glassy, and full of that unmistakable quack—while ditching the hum that plagues true single coils.
Most stacked/hum-cancelling designs get there by choking off the top end and low end, leaving pickups that sound flat and lifeless. Lace took a different route with their patented sidewinder construction, which keeps the frequency spread intact. You still get the air and sparkle up top and the depth down low that make vintage-style pickups so addictive, just without the noise.
Each pickup uses genuine Alnico 5 magnets, the same alloy prized in classic-era pickups for its smooth compression and musical breakup when pushed. Combined with Lace’s coil technology, the result is a set that’s articulate clean, snarls nicely when driven, and quacks in that classic in-between-position way players chase for years.
