Description
Gibson’s stock 3-point bass bridge has always been a compromise: great looks, but the design leaves the saddle only partially in contact with the body, robbing you of sustain and making intonation a fiddly guessing game. Babicz solved that problem with the FCH, and this chrome version is built as a straightforward drop-in replacement for the standard Gibson 3-point setup – no routing, no drilling, no drama.
The heart of the design is Babicz’s patented double-locking ECAM saddle system. Instead of the string simply resting on a saddle, the ECAM mechanism clamps the string down and pulls the saddle into full, solid contact with the instrument’s body. That direct coupling is what gives this bridge its reputation: more sustain, a fuller low end, and a tonal character that feels like the bass itself is finally speaking clearly instead of losing energy through a loose joint.
Because the locking mechanism keeps everything anchored while you work, dialing in intonation and string height stops being a wrestling match. Adjustments hold their setting instead of drifting, so you can fine-tune saddle position and action with confidence and actually trust the numbers once you’re done.
This is the same 3-point bridge Gibson specced on its 2015 Thunderbird and SG bass models, so you’re getting factory-proven hardware rather than an aftermarket guess.
