Description
PRS rolled out the 59/09 design back in 2009 to bridge the gap between vintage warmth and modern clarity, and this treble (bridge) position pickup is where that idea really shows its teeth. Built around an Alnico 2 magnet with a DC resistance of 9.3k, it’s voiced with a touch of extra brightness to keep note definition sharp under gain while still throwing off the harmonic complexity PRS pickups are known for. It comes uncovered, showing off nickel screws and slugs for that open, exposed-coil look.
- Magnet: Alnico 2
- DC Resistance: 9.3k
- Uncovered construction with nickel screws/slugs
- Part number: ACC-3404
This is the treble/bridge half of the 59/09 set — pair it with the matching 8.4k Alnico 2 bass/neck pickup (nickel covered, ACC-3405) for the full articulate-yet-punchy pairing PRS intended. Both pickups are wired to work with a 5-way blade or 5-way rotary selector, so you’ve got flexibility across pickup combinations without hunting for a special harness.
Whether you’re chasing clarity for chord work, punch for solos, or just want a bridge pickup that doesn’t turn to mush at higher gain, the 59/09 treble humbucker gives you the top-end bite and note separation to get there.
