Description
Suhr’s Aldrich bridge pickup was built for players who want serious push without sacrificing clarity. Developed alongside hard-rock guitarist Doug Aldrich, this humbucker sits at the high-output end of Suhr’s lineup, yet it stays articulate through gain — every string stays distinct even when you’re driving an amp hard.
Under the hood you get 4-conductor wiring, so you’re free to wire up coil-splits or phase switching for extra tonal options beyond the standard humbucker voice. DC resistance measures 17.5K ohms, giving it the muscle for chunky rhythm crunch and sustained, singing leads alike, without turning to mush in the low end. Highs stay sweet rather than harsh, and the midrange has enough push to cut through a dense mix.
This nickel-covered version is cut for Gibson-style 50mm pole spacing — check your bridge before ordering, since Suhr also offers this pickup in 53mm Fender-trem spacing.
Pair it with the Aldrich neck humbucker (9K ohms, calibrated to balance output with this bridge pickup) for a matched set that runs the gamut from bluesy leads to fluid high-gain runs.
Suhr Guitars has been hand-building instruments and pickups since 1997 under John Suhr and Steve Smith, with a client roster spanning Scott Henderson, Guthrie Govan, Reb Beach, and Kirk Fletcher — proof this isn’t a one-genre pickup.
