Description
Designed alongside hard-rock guitarist Doug Aldrich, this bridge humbucker was built to push harder than a typical vintage-voiced pickup while still keeping every note distinct. It’s Suhr’s take on maximum output that refuses to turn into mush under gain – you get aggressive push into your amp’s front end, but the pick attack, chord voicings, and string separation all stay intact.
Tonally, expect tight low end that doesn’t flub out on palm mutes, mids with enough push to cut through a dense mix, and highs that stay articulate rather than harsh or brittle. It’s equally at home nailing thick rock rhythm tones and firing off high-gain leads that sing rather than smear.
This particular version is wound for Fender-style trem spacing (53mm), so it drops straight into HSS or HH strat-style routs without pole piece alignment headaches. It’s finished in gold to match brighter hardware setups, and wired with 4-conductor cable so you’ve got full flexibility for coil-splitting, series/parallel switching, or whatever wiring scheme your guitar’s control cavity demands.
- DC Resistance: 17.5K ohms
- 4-conductor wire for full wiring flexibility
- Fender-style trem spacing: 53mm
- Gold cover/hardware finish
- Designed for the bridge position
Pair it with the Aldrich neck humbucker for a matched-output set, or drop it in solo if you just need serious bridge-position firepower. Hand-built by Suhr – ProAudioLand was named Suhr’s 2015 Electronics Dealer of the Year.
