Description
The Suhr DSV bridge humbucker is John Suhr’s answer for guitarists who want the real deal—those warm, dynamic humbucker tones from decades past, without the squashed, over-compressed feel that plagues so many modern high-output designs. Instead of piling on gain, the DSV keeps things open, giving your amp and pedals a wide, responsive signal to work with.
Where its sibling the SSV leans into honk and snarl, the DSV is voiced for smoother, more refined highs, making it a natural fit for players who want articulate lead tones and a bridge pickup that cleans up nicely without turning brittle. It’s the product of three decades of winding, testing, and refining by John Suhr himself, so the consistency and craftsmanship are baked in.
This particular DSV comes with a black bobbin and is wound for the bridge position at 9K ohms DC resistance, wired with 4-conductor lead for full coil-splitting and phase-switching flexibility. It’s built to Fender-style 53mm pole spacing, so it’s a straightforward swap for guitars with that string layout.
