Description
Suhr’s V60’s line was born from John Suhr’s obsession with dissecting genuinely great vintage single-coils—not just the ones with a good reputation. He measured gauss on original-era magnets, counted coil windings by hand, and rebuilt the formula that separates the truly great vintage pickups from the merely old ones. This middle-position unit carries that research forward, delivering bell-clear top end, mids with real push behind them, and low end that stays tight instead of turning to mud.
What sets this particular pickup apart is its RWRP (Reverse Wound, Reverse Polarity) construction. Wired opposite to the standard middle pickup, it’s built specifically to fight the 60-cycle hum that plagues single-coils under fluorescent lights, dimmers, and stage rigging. Pair it with a bridge or neck V60’s in a standard 5-way switch, and positions 2 and 4 become genuinely noise-canceling—plus you unlock coil-splitting options in those same switch positions for extra tonal flexibility.
- DC Resistance: 6.3K ohms (middle/neck spec)
- Reverse Wound / Reverse Polarity for hum cancellation in switch positions 2 & 4
- Vintage-correct magnet and winding approach based on John Suhr’s research into original ’60s pickups
- Clear, chiming highs with punchy mids and firm, controlled lows
If you’re chasing authentic vintage single-coil character without the 60-cycle buzz that comes with it, this is the piece that makes a hum-canceling 5-way setup actually work.
