Description
The Jeval flips the script on what a guitar amp head has to be. Baroni built a true 150W rms hybrid amplifier around a dual-channel tube preamp, anchored by a hi-voltage ECC82 that delivers the harmonic richness, dynamic touch response, and low-end weight you’d expect from a full-size valve rig — except this one fits in your hands.
Two channels, two personalities. CALM chases the warm shimmer of vintage blackface-era amps, making it a natural partner for a pedalboard full of drive and modulation. RAGE goes the other direction entirely, built on the DNA of Baroni’s own Gurus Ninja preamp pedal to conjure the snarl of the angriest high-gain heads. Rather than fake it, Baroni recreated a genuine tube high-gain preamp stage using the ECC82 alongside a chain of FETs configured for up to six gain stages — real cascading gain, not a digital approximation.
Each channel gets its own independent tone stack plus dedicated Gain and Volume, while shared Master Volume and Master Presence controls let you sculpt the final voice. Baroni also rethought the format itself: detach the wooden side panels and the Jeval becomes a footswitchable pedal on your board, complete with a top-panel channel switch. Leave the sides on and it sits happily as a desktop unit next to your DAW or perched on top of a cab on stage. A rear-panel remote switching jack accepts any standard latching footswitch for channel changes when it’s off the board.
