Description
The Van Zandt True Bucker carries the fingerprints of a genuine old-school builder. W.L. Van Zandt didn’t start his own pickup company until the late 1980s, but by then he’d already spent decades elbow-deep in guitar electronics around the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, repairing and rewinding pickups since the early 1960s. Add in his years as a machinist and a lifetime of playing guitar in country bands going back to the 1950s, and you get a builder whose ear for tone is backed by real hands-on craft.
That background shows up in the True Bucker’s approach: it’s a humbucker made by someone who understands both the mechanical side of winding and the musical side of what a pickup needs to do in a mix. Finished in black, it’s built to slot into your humbucker-equipped guitar without fuss, giving you a pickup with real pedigree behind it rather than just a spec sheet.
