Description
Before relic’d guitars were a trend, Seymour Duncan was aging pickups the hard way – and the Antiquity JB/Jazz set was the pair that started it. This is the JB and Jazz combo built exactly the way it was in the 1970s, then put through Duncan’s proprietary Antiquity treatment so the tone, and the look, feel genuinely broken-in rather than brand new.
- Bridge JB: aggressive upper-mid push that cuts through a dense mix without turning shrill
- Neck Jazz: rounder, warmer voice with articulate note separation, even under gain
- Alnico 5 bar magnets, rough sand cast and aged to mellow the attack the way decades of playing naturally would
- Vintage-correct construction: long-legged nickel silver bottom plates, maple spacer, original Jazz and JB model stamps, and heavily aged butyrate bobbins
- Vintage-style push-back single conductor braided shield lead wire for that period-correct wiring feel
What separates this set from a standard JB/Jazz pair isn’t just the sound – it’s the cosmetic aging that gives each pickup the patina of a real vintage find: simulated sweat, dust, and oxidation baked into the build, not painted on. The result is a humbucker set that behaves like it’s already earned its scars, with the sustain-to-clarity balance that made this combination a staple for players who want both bite and control.
