Each pickup in the pair overlaps its partner by 3/4″ (19mm), preserving the split-coil hum-cancelling arrangement that made the P Bass design work in the first place, while delivering a noticeably deeper, more focused tone underneath.
These belong to Bartolini’s Original Series – fully passive, single coil per half, and potted in epoxy. That epoxy casting isn’t just for looks; it locks the windings down tight so you don’t get microphonic squeal or unwanted feedback creeping in at higher stage volumes.
