Description
The 9CBJD L3/S3 gives Jazz Bass players a way to correct the classic J-Bass tone imbalance without touching a soldering iron on the wiring itself — just the pickups. Bartolini built this as a true long/short set: the L3 ‘long’ pickup lives in the bridge position while the S3 ‘short’ handles the neck, matching the staggered footprint of a standard Fender Jazz Bass.
Both pickups use a dual in-line, hum-cancelling coil layout, so you keep the humbucking quiet operation while retaining that unmistakable Jazz Bass growl. As part of Bartolini’s Classic Bass series, they’re passive units voiced with an extended frequency response — more air and clarity up top, more definition in the mids, all while keeping the low end full and unshaken. Each pickup is epoxy-potted to lock out microphonic squeal and unwanted feedback, so you get clean output even at stage volume.
