Description
Don’t let the size fool you — the Darkglass Tone Capsule crams a genuinely useful three-band EQ into a footprint smaller than a matchbox (30x30x20mm), making it an easy retrofit for basses with limited cavity space or anyone who’d rather not hack their instrument apart to add active electronics.
- Bass: ±12dB centered at 70Hz, with potentiometer included
- Mids: ±12dB centered at 500Hz, with potentiometer included
- Hi Mids: ±12dB centered at 2.8kHz, with potentiometer included
That 500Hz mid control is the real workhorse here — it’s the frequency range that separates a bass that cuts through a mix from one that gets buried, and having dedicated control over it (on top of standard bass and treble shaping) gives you a lot more shaping power than a typical passive tone knob.
Power flexibility is built in too: run it on a single 9V battery for standard headroom, or wire two in series for 18V operation if you want extra dynamic range and lower noise floor (battery clips not included, so grab those separately).
Ideal for builders and repair techs upgrading a passive bass to active electronics, or anyone swapping out a tired factory preamp for something with more precise EQ shaping.
