Description
This is the T4CBC, Bartolini’s dual-coil humbucker built in the classic Thunderbird bass shape, drawn from their Classic Bass (CB) Series. It’s a neck-position pickup, factory sealed and wired with 4 conductors, so you’ve got the flexibility to run it in series, parallel, or split coils depending on how your bass is wired up.
The CB series takes a passive approach but pushes the frequency window wider than you’d expect from a vintage-style design. There’s genuine air and clarity up top that a lot of passive bass pickups leave on the table, and it doesn’t come at the cost of your lows or low-mids staying full and present. Bartolini casts these in epoxy, which locks everything down mechanically and kills off the microphonic squeal and unwanted feedback that can creep into humbuckers under stage volume or heavy compression.
Being a dual-coil humbucker in the soapbar shape, it’s got true hum-cancelling behavior baked in rather than relying on out-of-phase tricks. The blades inside are CNC machined, which lets this pickup track evenly across string spacing from 50mm to 59mm on fingerboards with medium curvature – useful if you’re chasing consistent output across all four strings without dead spots or hot/weak string syndrome.
