Description
Some pickups just need a little help getting heard, and that’s exactly what the Bartolini TC3 is built for. It’s a discrete preamplifier/booster designed to sit between low-to-medium output pickups and the rest of your signal chain, giving them the push they need without piling on coloration or noise.
Out of the box, the TC3 comes preset with a minimum gain of 12dB, so even at its baseline setting you’re getting a meaningful lift in output. Need more? The circuit can be boosted all the way up to 40dB, which opens up serious headroom for players running passive, lower-output pickups who want the punch and consistency usually associated with active systems.
- Discrete preamp/booster circuit
- Preset minimum gain of 12dB
- Boostable up to 40dB
- Suited to low to medium output pickups
- 9 volt operation only
Because it’s discrete rather than a generic op-amp booster, the TC3 is built to add gain while staying out of the way tonally — the goal is more signal, not a different pickup. For bass players chasing a hotter, more present output from an otherwise mellow set of pickups, this is a straightforward, no-fuss way to get there. Just wire it in, power it with a 9-volt supply, and dial in the boost you need.
