Description
Billy Sheehan didn’t just settle for the classic DiMarzio Model P and Model One in his rig — he pushed for changes that would give his signature Yamaha basses even more low-end authority. The Will Power Neck Model is the result, and it’s the exact pickup found in his own instruments.
Physically, it shares the same footprint as the Model One, so swaps are straightforward. Sonically, it’s a different animal: deeper, louder, and fatter, with excellent low-end definition that holds up under aggressive playing. DiMarzio also widened the pole piece spacing slightly compared to the Model One, which keeps string alignment tight on long-scale basses.
Like its Will Power middle-position companion (a P-style design with serious punch and midrange muscle), this neck pickup is fully humbucking and wired with 4 conductors, so you’ve got flexibility for series, parallel, or split wiring options depending on how you want to route it.
- Wiring: 4-conductor
- Magnet type: Ceramic
- Output: 200 mV
- DC Resistance: 12.21 kOhm
Built for players who need low end with real definition rather than mush — a straightforward upgrade if your P-Bass neck pickup is sounding thin or unfocused.
