Description
Nobody wants a bridge pickup that turns every solo into a swarm of angry mosquitoes. DiMarzio built the Tone Zone to fix that exact problem — it’s got the output of a hot humbucker but responds to your touch far more than most high-gain pickups will. Dig in and it roars; ease up and it cleans up nicely, giving you way more expressive range than a one-note screamer.
What sets the Tone Zone apart is its low end. There’s serious bass and low-mid punch baked in, so single notes carry real weight and chord voicings sound massive rather than boxy. DiMarzio’s patented dual-resonance coil design pulls out overtones that you wouldn’t expect from a pickup this thick-sounding, keeping the top end from getting lost under all that low-mid muscle.
This F-spaced version is built for guitars with trem-spaced string layouts, so your low and high E strings sit properly over the pole pieces instead of drifting toward the edge of the coil. It’s wired 4-conductor, which means you can wire it for series/parallel switching or split it to a single-coil voice — and that split mode holds up surprisingly well on its own.
- Alnico 5 magnet for a punchy, dynamic pull
- 4-conductor wiring for full coil-splitting and phase options
- 17.31 kOhm resistance — solidly in high-output territory
- F-spaced for trem/floating-bridge string spacing
- Nickel cover
Pair it with an Air Norton, PAF Joe, or PAF Pro in the neck for a set that covers everything from articulate cleans to full-on wall-of-sound. Recommended for the bridge position in solid body guitars.
