Description
The Fast Track 1 swaps a Strat’s traditional pole-piece row for a single continuous blade under a stacked, hum-canceling coil pair. That blade design means the magnetic field runs evenly across the whole string spread, so nothing goes dead or dull between the poles, and string pull drops off too – less magnetic drag tugging at your strings means better sustain and fewer weird tuning artifacts up the neck.
Tone-wise, it keeps the airy top end you expect from a single-coil but tightens up the low end with a touch more bass focus. Dynamics stay single-coil-sensitive – dig in and it responds the way your fingers expect – but output runs roughly double, so it holds its own against a hot bridge humbucker instead of getting buried.
Where it really shines is bridging pickup types on the same guitar. Drop a Fast Track 1 into the middle or neck slot alongside a hot bridge humbucker and the volume jump between positions smooths right out. Load a full set into a Strat-style body for a louder, beefier take on the classic sound, or mix it with Chopper and Fast Track 2 units for a three-single-coil guitar with more grit and drive on tap. It’ll sit in any position of a standard Stratocaster wiring setup, and it plays well alongside DiMarzio bridge humbuckers like PAF, PAF Pro, Fred, Air Classic, Air Zone, Norton, and Tone Zone.
