Rather than hand-wiring a traditional blade switch, the EMG B165(rC) uses a plug-and-play buss system that connects everything with simple wire connectors — ideal if you’re not confident with a soldering gun, or just want a faster, cleaner install.
The buss handles all the essential jobs a Strat wiring harness needs to do for active electronics:
- An input section wired for two pickups
- A supply buss that routes 9V+ battery power out to your pickups and any onboard accessories
- A tone/effects send-and-return loop with bypass, so you can add or skip external tone shaping
- An input/output section that carries your signal to the jack and doubles as the battery’s on/off switch
