Description
The original EVOlution bridge pickup was built to do one thing: deliver the low-end snarl and cut that Steve Vai demanded. The DP215 EVO 2 keeps that DNA intact but reworks the recipe for more nuance under your fingers. It’s voiced with slightly less output than the original, which opens up headroom and lets pick dynamics come through instead of just flattening everything into compression.
That trimmed-down power also makes EVO 2 a smarter pairing partner. It balances naturally with the EVOlution neck pickup, so your two-pickup setup feels cohesive rather than lopsided in gain staging. Run it into a high-gain rig and it still screams on command at full volume, but back off the guitar’s volume knob and it cleans up convincingly for vintage-amp territory or dynamic clean/dirty switching mid-song.
- Bridge position humbucker, F-spaced for correct pole alignment on guitars with wider bridge string spacing
- White cover finish
- Slightly reduced output compared to the original EVOlution bridge pickup
- Designed to pair naturally with the EVOlution neck model
- Performs well across high-gain and vintage amp setups
If you loved the attitude of the original EVOlution but wanted more room to breathe dynamically, EVO 2 is the direct answer to that.
