The X2N earned its reputation on raw output alone, but the D Activator-X takes that same bar-pole, ceramic magnet foundation and points it somewhere smarter. DiMarzio retuned the coils to separate the frequencies more deliberately, so you still get commanding lows and mids, but the highs get room to breathe instead of getting buried under compression. The payoff shows up most when you roll the volume back — instead of mud, you get a surprisingly articulate clean tone, which matters a lot if you’re running high-gain metal amps and need dynamics without switching channels.
This is the Bridge version, voiced with more magnetic pull and output than its Neck counterpart, aimed at players who want an aggressive front end for riffing and lead work but don’t want to sacrifice note definition when things get busy. It also holds up well in split or parallel wiring configurations if you want access to brighter, single-coil-adjacent tones without losing usability.
Built with universal spacing, it drops into both standard and F-spaced bridge routes without fuss, and comes wired with 4-conductor leads for full coil-splitting flexibility.
