Description
Back in the ’50s, nobody was designing pickups specifically for neck or bridge duty — PAFs simply varied unit to unit, and players discovered through trial and error which ones sang best where. DiMarzio built the DP223 36th Anniversary PAF around that same spirit, using updated construction methods to chase the touch-sensitivity and airy top end of the best original PAFs, then dialing up the output slightly so it holds its own in the bridge position.
- Hotter-output PAF-style voicing, designed specifically for bridge placement
- Retains the open, present character prized in vintage-correct humbuckers
- Works great in set-neck guitars with a 24-3/4″ scale
- Also a strong choice for bolt-on neck guitars with tremolo systems
- Gold cover finish
If you’ve chased that elusive vintage humbucker snap but wanted a bit more push for driving an amp into breakup, this is the bridge pickup built for that exact job — without losing the dynamics that made the original PAF sound worth chasing in the first place.
