Description
The Super Distortion T brings the same ferocious output and midrange snarl that made the original Super Distortion a benchmark humbucker, packed into a direct-fit size for the Telecaster bridge position. It’s not a straight shrink-down job either — DiMarzio re-voiced the pickup to account for the slanted mounting angle found on 25 1/2″ scale Teles, smoothing out the treble and firming up the low end so it sits right in the mix instead of fighting the twang.
Ceramic magnets deliver the aggression this pickup is known for, while 4-conductor wiring opens the door to more than just full humbucker output. Wire it up for parallel humbucking or split it down to single-coil mode, and you’ll get a surprisingly usable, non-brittle single-coil voice — something dual-blade Tele replacements typically struggle with thanks to their narrow magnetic window. That flexibility means one pickup can cover rhythm chug, lead sustain, and a passable single-coil twang without swapping guitars.
- Wiring: 4-conductor (parallel humbucking + split-coil capable)
- Magnet: Ceramic
- Output: 325 mV
- DC Resistance: 13.18 kOhm
- Finish: Black
- Direct-fit for Telecaster bridge position
If you want Super Distortion firepower without giving up your Tele’s bridge-position feel, this is the drop-in upgrade built exactly for that job.
