Description
Born out of Paul Gilbert’s ongoing love affair with DiMarzio’s Area-series tone and his return to blistering Racer X-style instrumentals, the Injector Bridge is a single-coil-sized pickup engineered to keep up with fast hands without losing musicality. It’s the pickup you’ll hear tearing through Gilbert’s “Fuzz Universe” record, and it translates just as well whether you’re chasing his lead tone or just want a single coil that stays articulate at speed.
An Alnico 2 magnet gives the Injector Bridge a softer attack and rounder top end than hotter ceramic-loaded pickups, so pick dynamics and vibrato come through clearly even when you’re playing fast. With 4-conductor wiring, you get full flexibility for coil-splitting, series/parallel switching, or phase tricks if your wiring scheme calls for it.
- Position: Bridge

DiMarzio’s relationship with Gilbert goes back to the ’80s, when Billy Sheehan tipped them off about a teenage guitarist tearing up California with Racer X. Decades later, that partnership has produced a pickup built specifically around how Gilbert actually plays — fast, precise, and full of tone.
Drop it into a Strat-style bridge position for a single coil that can handle both searing leads and everyday rhythm work without sounding thin or brittle.
