Description
Designed in collaboration with Revocation’s Dave Davidson, the Imperium 7™ Bridge Model was built for guitarists who refuse to be boxed into one style. Davidson needed a pickup that could handle dense, technical riffing while still sounding musical clean – not always a given in the 7-string world.
What sets this pickup apart is how it handles complex voicings under gain. Extended-range chords can easily turn to mush, but the Imperium 7 keeps each note articulate even with heavy distortion stacked on top. The ceramic magnet delivers a full, controlled low end that stays tight on the low B and F# strings, while the top end stays clear rather than harsh – a quality Davidson specifically wanted for harmonic-laced open chords, describing the result as having real sparkle.
Output is set at a medium level (325mV), which means the pickup responds dynamically to your amp and your picking hand. Dig in with the volume maxed for a saturated, heavily driven tone, then roll back for cleaner, more nuanced textures – the pickup tracks pick attack rather than just delivering one flat sound at all settings.
