Description
Fishman built the Fluence Classic bridge humbucker to settle an old argument: do you want the woody, balanced pull of a calibrated vintage P.A.F., or the pushed-harder snarl of a hot-rodded humbucker? With this pickup, you don’t have to pick just one. Flip a switch (or wire it to a push-pull pot) and you’re toggling between Voice 1’s Vintage P.A.F. character—tuned to a 2.25kHz peak frequency for that classic, articulate bridge tone at just the right output—and Voice 2’s Classic Hotrod voice, which drops the peak to 1.6kHz for a thicker, more aggressive lead sound minus the usual trade-offs.
Both voices come from Fishman’s Fluence Core, an active pickup architecture that sidesteps the inductance issues, hum, and noise that traditional wire-wound humbuckers have lived with since the 1930s. Long cable runs—20, 30, 50 feet or more—won’t dull your tone, and rolling back your guitar’s volume won’t cost you top-end clarity the way it can with passive pickups.
It’s built as a straightforward drop-in replacement for standard humbucker-routed guitars, finished with a brushed stainless cover for a clean, understated look.
