Description
Sixty years of Strat tone chasing has always meant living with hum. Fishman’s Fluence Multivoice single-width pickup breaks that trade-off by building the classic single-coil vocabulary from the ground up around its active Fluence Core, so you get the sound without the 60-cycle baggage.
Flip between two genuinely different voices rather than a subtle tap or blend. Voice 1 is a vintage single-coil character – airy, sweet, and detailed, peaking around 4kHz for that glassy top end everyone chases. Voice 2 turns up the muscle: a hot Texas-style single-coil with more push and low-mid beef, peaking closer to 3kHz, but it keeps the sparkle and “strattiness” intact instead of just piling on mud.
Because it’s an active design, output stays consistent no matter which voice you’re on and no matter how much cable you run between guitar and amp – 50 feet of cord won’t dull your highs. Volume knob sensitivity and clarity are also preserved, so rolling back doesn’t mean losing definition.
- Alnico IV rod magnets, ~260 gauss at the string
- 52.2mm pole spacing, direct drop-in for standard single-coil routs
- 2k output impedance, 2.4mA current draw
- Runs on a standard 9V battery (roughly 250 hours) or an optional rechargeable lithium-ion pack
- Wire for always-on voicing or add a switch to toggle between the two on the fly
If you want the Strat pickups everyone references as the benchmark, minus the noise floor that’s always come attached, this is the shortcut – and it fits right where your old single coil used to live.
