Description
Greg Koch didn’t want a compromise between chime and chunk — he wanted both, on tap, without hum getting in the way. This set is the result: a pair of active Fishman Fluence pickups built around his idea of the perfect Telecaster, with two switchable voices apiece drawn from the same Fluence Core.
Voice 1 (White-Guard) is the open, airy side of the Tele — think Nashville sessions, Bakersfield twang, and chicken-pickin’ clarity that stays articulate even when you dig in hard. Flip to Voice 2 (Black-Guard) and things get thicker and more aggressive — fatter mids, more push, and the kind of searing sustain that reminds you why the Telecaster earned its reputation as a rock and roll workhorse, not just a country instrument.
Because these are Fluence pickups, there’s no 60-cycle hum lurking behind any of that — just clean, quiet output whether you’re strumming wide open or riding the neck pickup for something warmer.
