The Prefix Premium Blend is Fishman’s answer to the age-old acoustic dilemma: pickup or mic? Here you get both, wired to a single slider so you can dial in exactly how much undersaddle punch versus natural room air you want in the mix. The Acoustic Matrix pickup handles the string definition and low-end thump, while the miniature internal gooseneck mic fills in the top’s resonance and chamber character — blend them together and you land on something noticeably rounder and more three-dimensional than either source solo.
This is the wide format version, sized for saddles at 1/8″ (3.2mm) — a narrow 3/32″ (2.3mm) option is also available if that matches your build better.
Fishman didn’t stop at tone-blending. Feedback is the acoustic-electric player’s constant enemy, so the Premium Blend adds an adjustable notch filter plus a phase switch to knock down problem frequencies before they turn into howl on stage. A wide-range semi-parametric EQ lets you zero in on and shape specific bands beyond the standard bass/treble controls, and there’s an onboard chromatic tuner that works unplugged.
Practical touches round it out: a pivoting preamp housing gives you instant access to swap the 9-volt battery (rated around 130 hours of use), a low-battery LED warns you before you’re caught silent mid-set, and the system ships complete with the undersaddle pickup and a Switchjack stereo endpin jack.
