Description
The Matrix Infinity builds on Fishman’s Acoustic Matrix legacy — still the best-selling undersaddle pickup on the market — but wraps it in a completely redesigned, endpin-mounted active preamp. This is the wide version, sized for a 1/8″ (3.2mm) saddle slot; if your slot measures 3/32″ (2.3mm), grab the narrow variant instead.
Rather than fighting your guitar’s natural voice, this system lets you shape it. Soundhole-mounted Volume and Tone knobs stay within easy reach mid-performance, and the Tone control does something most simple rotary pots don’t: it scoops mids while lifting treble and bass simultaneously, giving you a quick way to carve out mud or add sparkle without an EQ pedal. A switchable voicing control goes further still, letting you dial the system in for different body sizes and room situations — one pickup, multiple tonal personalities.
Everything hooks up via solderless connections, though given the precision involved in undersaddle installs, professional setup is still the smart call. An integrated LED flags a dying 9V battery (not included) before it cuts out on you mid-set.
