Description
Fishman rebuilt the Platinum Pro EQ from scratch, and the result is a workhorse floor unit that treats your acoustic signal with real analog care. At its heart is a discrete, 17-volt Class-A preamp designed for high headroom and low distortion, so plugged-in acoustics keep their natural woodiness instead of turning brittle or quacky under stage volume.
Shaping your voice is handled by a 5-band EQ with a sweepable mid and adjustable low-cut, backed by a switchable guitar/bass EQ mode — flip it over and the Platinum Pro EQ becomes just as musical for bass instruments as it is for six-string acoustics. When feedback starts creeping in, the sweepable notch filter and phase invert switch let you dial out the offending frequency without gutting your tone. A one-knob soft-knee compressor smooths out dynamics automatically, and an effects loop gives you room to bring outboard gear into the signal chain.
On the floor, it’s built for real gigging: rugged footswitches trigger a +12dB volume boost (with its own level control) or engage the fully chromatic tuner, both without touching your knees. Routing is covered with a 1/4″ instrument input, 1/4″ amp output, and a balanced XLR DI with pre/post EQ selection and ground lift for clean stage or studio sends.
