Description
The Fishman SBT-C is a soundboard transducer built specifically for classical guitars, and its whole job is to stay out of the way of your tone. Rather than coloring the signal or pushing some artificial sense of “amplified” onto your sound, it captures the natural voice of the top and lets it through basically untouched.
- Mounts directly to the soundboard with no drilling, routing, or permanent modification
- 1/8″ mini jack output
- Pairs well with an impedance-matching preamp for a fuller, more balanced signal — though it’s not mandatory
Installation is refreshingly simple and reversible, which makes this a solid option if you’re not ready to commit to anything invasive on a nylon-string instrument you love. That said, if you want it dialed in perfectly the first time, having a pro handle placement is worth considering — a few millimeters of position can shift how the transducer reads the top’s vibration.
This is a pickup for players who care more about honest reproduction than stage-ready hype: fingerstyle, classical repertoire, flamenco touches, anything where the character of the wood and strings needs to survive the trip through the PA.
