Description
The EMG MetalWorks 57/66 set pairs two purpose-built active humbuckers, one for the bridge and one for the neck, so each pickup does exactly what it’s meant to instead of splitting the difference.
In the bridge, the 57 leans on Alnico V magnets and steel pole pieces to get that familiar PAF-ish character, but with active circuitry behind it you get more headroom, a tighter punch, and definition that stays intact even when you’re driving a high-gain amp hard.
Up front, the 66 uses the same Alnico V magnets for a smooth, warm midrange and full low end, while ceramic pole pieces push the top end forward so lead lines and chords stay articulate instead of turning to mush.
Both pickups wear EMG’s brushed black chrome steel covers, giving the set a stealthy, modern look that works on just about any guitar – metal, rock, or otherwise.
