If your Precision Bass has lost some of its visual mojo, this is the fix. Fender’s 13-hole ’60s vintage-style pickguard swaps in classic tortoise shell looks with the same proportions and hole placement players expect from a period-correct P Bass build. It’s a straightforward upgrade that changes the entire personality of the instrument without touching the electronics.
Built as a four-ply piece, it has the depth and warmth in the tortoise pattern that thin single-ply guards can’t match. The 13 mounting-screw holes line up with the classic layout, and there are four additional holes ready for a vintage-style thumb rest and pickup cover if you want to go full old-school. A truss rod notch is included so it seats correctly against the neck pocket.
Fit is dedicated to Precision Bass models: American, American Standard, American Vintage, Standard, and Deluxe series. Note that it does not fit five-string Precision Bass models, so double-check your bass before ordering. Mounting hardware isn’t included, so grab screws separately if you don’t already have a spare set on hand.
