Description
The Metal Works 57/66 pairs two purpose-built EMG actives to cover both ends of the neck without compromise. In the bridge, the 57 leans on Alnico V magnets against steel pole pieces to conjure that classic PAF-flavored midrange, then uses EMG’s active circuitry to add headroom and articulation that passive pickups can’t touch — chords stay defined even under heavy gain, and pick attack cuts through cleanly.
Up front, the 66 takes the same Alnico V magnet but swaps in ceramic pole pieces, shifting the balance toward a rounder low end and smoother midrange while keeping the top end open and articulate. Together they’re voiced as a matched neck/bridge system rather than two unrelated pickups thrown in a box.
This particular set is cut for Floyd Rose spacing with a short shaft, finished in brushed chrome to match modern hardware, and wired for EMG’s solderless install system — no iron required, just plug and mount.
