Description
If your Strat’s bridge has drifted from period-correct territory – or you’re building one that should never have left it – this Pure Vintage Saddle Kit gets you back on spec. Fender produced these six saddles using, where possible, the same tooling that shaped the originals, so the profile, mass, and contact points behave the way a ’54-era bridge intended rather than a modern stand-in.
Each nickel-plated steel saddle carries the “Fender Pat. Pend.” stamp, the small detail that separates a correct restoration from a close guess. Beyond looks, the retooling affects how the strings actually break over the saddle – tighter, cleaner contact that vintage-tone chasers notice immediately under the fingers and in the attack.
The kit arrives ready to install, no scavenging hardware from a parts bin required:
- Set of six nickel-plated steel Stratocaster saddles
- Retooled to vintage specs for authentic look and feel
- “Fender Pat. Pend.” stamped on each saddle
- Includes intonation springs, Phillips head intonation screws, and hex saddle height adjustment screws
This is the same saddle design introduced on the 1954 Stratocaster and later carried through the American Vintage ’56, ’59, and ’65 reissues. It fits most vintage and modern Stratocaster bridges built with the vintage 2 3/16″ mounting spacing and classic six-screw layout – check your bridge spacing before ordering to make sure it’s a match.
Whether you’re dialing a reissue back to factory-correct or just tired of a saddle that never intonates right, this is a straightforward, historically accurate fix.
