Description
Fender built these Vintage Noiseless pickups to answer a question every Jazz Bass player eventually asks: how do you get that classic single-coil bite without dragging along the buzz? The answer lives inside these two pickups, found stock on Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass models, where modern noise-cancelling circuitry hides behind a thoroughly old-school voice.
Alnico 2 magnets are the reason this set leans warm rather than aggressive — attack softens slightly, mids stay rounded instead of spiky, and the whole thing feels closer to a well-worn vintage Jazz Bass than a modern hi-fi pickup. Hand-beveled polepieces, cut with specific radii, keep string-to-string output even so nothing jumps out or disappears in the mix.
Construction details that matter to anyone who’s rewound or repaired a pickup before: polysol-coated magnet wire, vinyl-coated output leads, and a durable plastic bobbin holding it all together. This is a long-bridge, short-neck size set, matching the standard staggered dimensions of a Jazz Bass — so drop-in fit is straightforward if you’re replacing an existing vintage-style pair.
