The extra mass in the design does what mass does best: it improves string-to-body coupling, giving you a firmer low end, cleaner attack, and noticeably longer note decay. Rather than reshaping your tone, it reinforces what’s already there — think of it as turning up the resolution on your bass’s natural voice.
