Description
There’s a reason so many working bassists have a GK head somewhere in their rig, and the MB500 makes the case in under 4 lbs and less than a single rack space. Don’t let the size fool you — this thing puts out 500W at 4 ohms (350W at 8 ohms) of that distinctly punchy, articulate GK voice, driven by a digital power section that stays clean under pressure.
Shaping your tone happens up front, where GK’s 4-band active EQ and contour switch let you carve out anything from vintage thump to modern slap-friendly clarity. Need more grit on a chorus or solo? The footswitchable boost channel has its own independent volume control, so you can dial in exactly how much push and grind you want without wrecking your core tone.
Around back, the MB500 is built for real gig and studio use: an XLR direct out with pre-/post-EQ selector and ground lift for clean DI signal, a tuner out with mute so you can tune silently between songs, an effects loop for your outboard gear, a headphone/line out for practice or silent recording, and dual Speakon outputs for flexible cab hookups. There’s also a -10dB pad on board for taming hot active basses.
