Description
Most internal acoustic systems ask you to choose between the warmth of a mic and the feedback resistance of a pickup. The Anthem refuses that trade-off. Built around L.R. Baggs’ patent-pending Tru-Mic, this system puts a half-ounce microphone directly on the bridge plate inside your X-braced guitar, hovering just 3mm from the surface to exploit the boundary effect. The result is a mic that captures the entire vibrating soundboard with real fidelity and dynamics, not a modeled approximation, while resisting feedback well enough for loud stages.
Because the Tru-Mic can finally serve as the dominant voice in a mic/pickup blend, the included Element undersaddle transducer only steps in to reinforce the lowest frequencies, adding punch without smothering the mic’s detail and character. Everything is governed by a featherweight preamp/controller that mounts just inside the soundhole, putting volume, mic/pickup mix, phase inversion for feedback control, mic gain, and a battery-check indicator within easy reach of your fingertips.
What’s in the box:
- Tru-Mic (2.27″ x .735″ x .48″, 0.5 oz)
- Element undersaddle pickup (active sensor length 3.4″, thickness .038″, width .092″)
- Soundhole-mounted preamp/controller
- Endpin jack with wiring harness (requires 1/2″ hole)
- Battery connector with no-drill battery bag
- Self-stick internal wire clips and peel-and-stick adhesive for mic, preamp, and battery bag
Runs on a single 9V battery (roughly 170 hours), with a mic frequency range of 250Hz–20kHz. Note: L.R. Baggs recommends professional installation for undersaddle pickups.
