Description
The Element-VTC is L.R. Baggs’ answer to the age-old under-saddle compromise: how do you capture the guitar’s real voice without the piezo quack that plagues so many saddle pickups? Their fix was subtraction rather than addition — pulling every extraneous part out of the signal path to tighten the physical coupling between the Element transducer and your saddle. Less stuff in the way means more of the actual instrument gets through, so you get a robust, dynamic response with a surprisingly delicate top end instead of the usual brittle sizzle.
Because it’s a one-size-fits-all design, the Element sensor handles common string spacings and saddle widths without hassle, and string-to-string balance stays even across the board — no dead spots, no one string jumping out at you. Pairing the transducer is an all-discrete Class A endpin preamp, pre-contoured for a clean install, along with small removable volume and tone controls mounted right at the soundhole. They’re unobtrusive when you don’t need them and easy to reach the second you do.
Everything installs plug-and-play, and L.R. Baggs throws in their Battery Bagg for tidy, secure 9V storage inside the guitar — no rattling battery clip, no dangling wires.
