Description
The Hot Telecaster Set pairs the STR-2 neck and STL-2 bridge for players who want their Tele to hit harder without losing its identity. Both pickups start from Seymour Duncan’s vintage Tele blueprint, then get pushed further with a custom overwound coil that shifts the balance away from glassy top-end and into thick, driving midrange.
The STR-2 neck pickup takes a vintage rhythm design and winds it hotter, swapping some treble sparkle for low-end punch and overall warmth. It’s still articulate on top, but that edge gets smoothed by a more assertive bottom end—ideal for full-bodied chord work and singing lead lines that don’t thin out.
Up front, the STL-2 bridge pickup uses flat, hand-ground Alnico 5 rod magnets and a high-output coil wind to push midrange power into humbucker territory, while keeping the twang and bark that makes a Tele a Tele. With no steel baseplate, low and mid frequencies come through fatter and fuller, giving lead lines extra presence and drive without sacrificing that vintage bite.
