Back in March of ’68, Jimi Hendrix handed his Strat to a young Seymour W. Duncan before walking onstage — and the pickups Seymour wound for him that night became the blueprint for this set. The Jimi Hendrix Signature Loaded Pickguard puts that same trio of pickups, pre-wired and ready to install, onto a 3-ply white pickguard cut for the standard reverse-angle bridge route.
- Bridge pickup: hot and cutting for lead work, without losing that vocal Hendrix character
- Neck pickup: thick, round tone built for chords, blues phrasing, and Jimi’s trademark chord-melody hybrid style
- Positions 2 and 4: full-bodied single-coil quack for that classic in-between Strat sound
Every pickup in the set is wound with a reverse magnet stagger — the same quirk that came from Jimi playing a righty guitar flipped upside down and restrung lefty. It’s a subtle but real part of what made his tone his own, baked right into the coil construction here rather than left to imitation.
The pickguard itself arrives fully loaded: 250K pots, a 5-way selector switch, .047 caps, and cloth push-back cable throughout, so it’s a drop-in swap rather than a wiring project. A Voodoo-route version with the bridge angle reversed is also offered if that’s what your Strat calls for.
