Description
The AHB-2b is Seymour Duncan’s reworked take on the LiveWires Metal concept, packing a fresh preamp and voicing into their most brutal-sounding active bridge pickup. If your rig needs to survive drop tunings, blast beats, and wall-of-gain riffing without turning to mush, this is the pickup built for that job.
Unlike passive humbuckers that rely purely on magnet and coil design, the Blackouts uses onboard active electronics to push output higher while keeping the low end tight and the attack sharp. Instead of one fixed voice, you get two selectable output levels, so you can dial in a slightly tamer setting for rhythm work or slam it into full-send mode for leads that cut straight through a dense mix. Expect a scooped-but-punchy midrange, dark and heavy chord voicings, and leads that scream without getting harsh or brittle.
Genre-wise, this pickup was engineered around metal, thrash, punk, garage, and heavy rock — anywhere the guitar needs to dominate rather than blend in.
- Active humbucking pickup
- Voiced specifically for extreme heaviness
- Two switchable output levels
- Fits any standard humbucker-routed guitar
- Wireable to a mini-switch or push/pull pot for output switching
- Black cover
- Includes 25K pots, stereo jack, battery clip, pin jumper, and mounting hardware
For players who need headroom for gain and clarity for palm-muted chugging in equal measure, the AHB-2b delivers both without compromise.
