Description
The AJB-1 is the bridge half of Seymour Duncan’s active Jazz Bass system, voiced with a subtle mid dip to keep the low strings articulate rather than boomy. Run through its fully discrete, 9-volt onboard preamp, it puts out a low-impedance signal with plenty of headroom, so dynamics stay intact whether you’re digging in or laying back. Paired with the matching active neck pickup, you get a naturally balanced set: a detailed, punchy neck tone answered by a bridge pickup that’s hotter and tighter in the low end.
Instead of six separate pole pieces, this pickup uses blade construction, which means the same unit works across both 4-string and 5-string Jazz Basses. It’s built to handle string spacing up to 3.10″ (78.7mm), and inside you’ll find a ceramic bar magnet driving a 3-conductor lead for flexible wiring options.

Important: this is a traditional-size 5-string Jazz Bass pickup and will not retrofit Fender Jazz V models. For a fully matched active pickup set, pair it with Seymour Duncan’s active 5-string Jazz Bass neck pickup.
