What sets the SH-2N apart is its refined treble response. Compared to the SH-1 ’59 Model, it trims a bit of output in exchange for extra detail up top, so fast runs and intricate lead lines come through articulate rather than mushy. Clean tones stay bright and defined, and when you push it into distortion, the SH-2N holds its composure with a full, singing character and smooth sustain rather than collapsing into mud.
Because it runs a touch brighter and leaner than hotter neck pickups, the Jazz plays exceptionally well with a wide range of bridge partners.
