Description
The SH-6B Duncan Distortion is Seymour Duncan’s answer for players who need serious gain without losing note-to-note clarity. A massive ceramic magnet paired with hot coil windings pushes output well beyond vintage-voiced humbuckers, giving you the raw, saturated crunch that defines old school metal, nu-metal, gothic rock, garage, punk, and thrash. It’s especially at home in drop tunings, where lower-tuned strings need extra push to stay tight and articulate under heavy distortion.
Compared to the SH-5 Duncan Custom, the Distortion runs hotter and more aggressive, favoring raw power over polite dynamics. Despite the ceramic magnet’s punch, this pickup doesn’t turn to mud – chords still separate, and pick attack cuts through even at high gain.
- High-output bridge humbucker with ceramic magnet
- Hot coil windings for aggressive, saturated distortion tones
- Retains note clarity and articulation under heavy gain
- Four-conductor hookup cable included
- Also available for the neck position
This particular listing is the reverse zebra bridge version, finished in the classic black/cream two-tone bobbin look. Many players pair it with an SH-2n Jazz Model in the neck position, giving you a rig that can go from thick, clean tones to full-throttle heaviness without swapping guitars.
