The SP90-3 Custom takes the classic soapbar formula and cranks the output, swapping in two large ceramic magnets in place of the alnico you’d find on a vintage-style P-90. The payoff is a punchier, more compressed response with a sharper attack up front—less loose and woolly, more focused and aggressive without losing that unmistakable soapbar character.
This is the neck-position version in black, voiced to pair with the bridge Custom in a matched set, or to sit alongside an SP90-1 Vintage in the bridge for players who want a foot in both camps: vintage grit on one side, high-output punch on the other. That combo gives you real tonal range across a single guitar.
Where the standard soapbar shape can feel a little tall under the fingers, the Custom trims things down to a .585″ height profile—slightly shorter, easier to route around, and still unmistakably P-90 in attitude.
