Description
The Seymour Duncan P-90 Stack neck pickup gives you that vocal, slightly gritty P-90 character without the buzz that usually comes attached to it. Duncan achieved this by stacking the coils internally to cancel hum, so you get the twang and bite of a single-coil soapbar in a package that stays dead quiet under gain and in noisy stage environments alike.
Because it’s built to work across genres, this pickup doesn’t lock you into one tone. It cleans up nicely for jazz and blues, snarls for classic rock, and holds its own for country twang – basically anywhere a P-90 voice is called for but hum isn’t welcome.
Under the hood, it ships with a four-conductor hookup cable, opening the door to series, parallel, and split wiring configurations so you can dial in different flavors from the same pickup:
- Series wiring: louder, brasher output – great for pushing into heavier rock tones
- Parallel wiring: brighter and thinner voicing, well suited to jazz, blues, and country
Physically, it’s built with a taller .951″ height profile, so keep that in mind when setting up your pickup rings or routing. Finished in black, it’s a straightforward soapbar-cover swap for players wanting P-90 attitude minus the noise.
