Description
The Duncan Custom has long been the go-to bridge pickup for players who want PAF character with a lot more muscle behind it, and the Trembucker version brings that same attitude to F-spaced instruments. Built wider to line up with tremolo-equipped and Fender-spaced guitars (as well as post-1999 Gibson models), it’s the right call if your bridge pickup needs to match a wider string spread.
Under the hood, a ceramic magnet and Seymour’s custom coil winding tighten up the dynamics and push forward an aggressive high-end snarl with plenty of midrange grind. Low strings stay defined rather than turning to mush, which makes this pickup a favorite for drop-tuned riffing, but it cleans up well enough to handle classic rock, funk, punk, and R&B too. Sustain and compression are both noticeably beefed up compared to a vintage-spec PAF, giving solos that extra push without losing note clarity.
- Ceramic magnet with custom-wound coils for a hot, punchy voice
- Reverse Zebra bobbin finish
- Four-conductor hookup cable included
- Recommended for bridge position
Seymour Duncan often pairs this with an SH-1 ’59 in the neck – you get the aggressive, oversized PAF tone up front and a vintage-correct sweetness in back. It’s a combo that leans warm and balanced overall, and it particularly shines on guitars with rosewood fingerboards where the extra top-end bite gets smoothed out just right.
